Happy Latch

About Me

Hi, I’m Naomi. I am a Registered Nurse with over 12 years of experience, working as a Neonatal Special Care Nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Happy Latch is where I bring that experience home to support local families. I grew up in Geelong and am now raising my own family here, so it is meaningful to offer gentle, practical breastfeeding support within my regional community.

My clinical work is busy and deeply rewarding. I currently work in a Melbourne neonatal intensive care unit caring for babies with complex medical needs, and I also hold a separate role focused on lactation consultation and breastfeeding support in another hospital setting. These environments are fast paced and highly clinical, and they have shaped my calm approach, thorough assessment skills, and broad understanding of feeding challenges.

In-home consultations are a different kind of care. When I step into your space, the pace slows and support is shaped around your goals, comfort, and daily routine. We talk through what is going well and what feels hard, observe feeding where appropriate, and make gentle, practical adjustments to support comfort and milk transfer. For babies born early or those who have spent time in Special Care, I balance growth needs with the feeding relationship you want to build.

My aim is simple: less stress, more confidence, and a plan that fits real life.

Breastfeeding is natural, but it is not always easy. Small changes and kind, evidence-based support can make a significant difference. I bring clinical experience alongside warmth, reassurance, and a friendly, approachable presence. You will never be judged, and you will always be heard. Care is provided with respect for your privacy, preferences, and culture.

Values & Care Philosophy

I believe families deserve lactation support that feels respectful, compassionate, and practical. My approach is gentle and non-judgmental, grounded in current evidence and tailored to your individual circumstances.

Together, we set clear and realistic steps that you can use straight away, with follow-up reassurance to help you feel informed, supported, and confident as you move forward.
