Overview – How Consultations Work

Every family is different, so we start by listening. Before your session, you’ll complete a short intake form so I can understand your goals and any feeding history. During your consult we’ll talk through what is going well and what feels hard, observe a feed when appropriate, and make gentle, practical adjustments to support comfort and milk transfer. You’ll leave with a clear, personalised plan and written notes so you can refer back in your own time. A period of follow up support is included to help you settle in and build confidence.

In-Home Consultations

Care in your own space can feel calmer and more natural. During an in-home visit we review your history and current routine, look closely at latch and positioning, protect nipples, and discuss supply support that fits your day. If your baby is coming home from Special Care or was born early, we balance growth goals with your preferred feeding plan.

Initial In-Home Consultation

Inclusions: intake review, up to 90 minutes of dedicated support, observation and coaching during a feed when appropriate, a personalised care plan, and post-visit follow-up support. Travel within Golden Plains, Greater Geelong, Bellarine, and Surf Coast is included during the introductory phase.

Pricing:
Initial in-home consult (90 min) $190 introductory rate.

Follow-Up In-Home Consultation

Designed for families who have already completed an initial consultation. Available for same baby within 6 months of Initial consultation. Follow-up sessions focus on reviewing progress, addressing ongoing or new concerns, and refining strategies introduced in your initial plan. These sessions are more targeted and practical, supporting confidence as feeding evolves.

Pricing:
In-home follow-up (60 min) $150 introductory rate.

Online (Virtual) Consultations

When travel or timing is tricky, video sessions provide timely, practical support. We cover positioning, latch, pumping or bottle strategies, supply support, and a simple plan you can start right away. I guide camera angles only if you are comfortable and always with privacy in mind. Virtual consultations are available to families located in Australia only.

Initial Online (Virtual) Consultation

Inclusions: intake review, live video session, written plan, and follow-up support.

Pricing:
Initial virtual consult (60 min) $120 introductory rate.

Follow-Up Online (Virtual) Consultation

What to Expect / How to Prepare

  • For in-home visits:
Choose a time when your baby is likely to feed soon. If they are hungry early, that is okay.
Have any items you use nearby, such as your preferred pillow, pump, bottles, or shields.
Share any cultural or privacy preferences. Your comfort guides the session.
Partners or support people are welcome if you would like them to be involved.

  • For virtual visits:
Use a charged phone, tablet, or laptop with a stable internet connection.
Set your device up hands free. A simple stand or a few stacked books works well so you can use both hands to support and position your baby.
Choose a quiet, well lit spot. If you would like coaching on latch and positioning, I can guide simple camera angles with your consent.
Keep any feeding tools within reach.
We move at your pace with privacy respected at all times.

Private Health Rebates & Notes

Some private health insurers offer rebates for lactation consultations. If eligible, you can submit your paid invoice directly to your insurer. Independent IBCLC services are not currently eligible for Medicare rebates. Session availability is updated weekly on the online booking calendar. Travel within Golden Plains, Greater Geelong, Bellarine, and Surf Coast is included.
